I’ve had such a sloggingly slow start to this year’s Loving Life posting!! I’ll turn over a new leaf and get things going with some recycling information to share from the David Suzuki Foundation:
Recycle your unwanted stuff
More and more people understand that there is no “away” in the finite system that is planet Earth and that we can’t keep using our precious air, water and land to dump the stuff we no longer want.
If something can’t be reused, repaired, refurbished or otherwise repurposed, the next best thing is to recycle it. Here’s a (by no means exhaustive) list of resources in Canada (organized by location) to help you do just that:
H&M — clothing and textiles
BabyEarthRENEW — baby equipment
Call2Recycle — batteries and cell phones
Crazy Crayons Recycle Program — crayons
Goodwill Industries International, Inc.
Home Depot — holiday lights
Lions Clubs — eyeglasses
Think Recycle — cell phones, laptops, print cartridges
Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center
Electronic Recycling Association
ReGeneration — enter your product and city in their “find a collection site” widget
SleepCountry — matresses
British Columbia Electronic Products Recycling Association
British Columbia’s Recycling Handbook — (PDF)
Canadian Mattress Recycling — mattresses and furniture
Metro Vancouver Recycles
Pacific Mobile Depots
Recycling Council of British Columbia
Newfoundland and Labrador
Prince Edward Island
