Gratitude Saturday

My heart goes out to all who are evacuated from their homes due to flooding in Alberta. Although we have had fierce torrents of rain and hail lately, I am grateful to be living in an area that does not succumb to flooding, so far anyway.  The thunderstorm and ensuing deluge of rain and hail last evening created an exciting light and sound performance…a natural symphony.  We sat out on the deck to enjoy the excitement and beauty of it.  Then, once the rains had let up, we were treated to a mass influx of hungry hummingbirds around our two sugar-water feeders.  There were no less than 20 of the little hummers all vying for a seat…often there were two per perch with others hovering nearby. How very fortunate we are to witness such a scene!
