Hawkins Lake

Hawkins Lake is a lake located just 5.8 miles from Canim Lake. There are rainbow trout in the lake but the locals who have been around for some time will tell you not to fish it due to fecal contamination.  There are houses built along the shore but I think the large cattle farm, unfenced at the lake shore, is the contamination issue.

It is a good sized lake, excellent for kayaking enjoyment.  We have kayaked, around the entire lake with a stop ashore for a picnic at the halfway point.  It is peaceful and really quite lovely with lots of water fowl and wildlife to spot.

There is an unmarked boat launch access that all are welcome to use.
