Share Your World

“Share your World”  is a way to get to know each other that Cee has going on her blog. She posts weekly questions for all who wish to participate.

This week’s questions and my responses are:

  • If you had a choice, which would be your preference: salt water beaches, fresh water lakes, hot tub, or desert?   I do love the west coast waters along the island of Haida Gwaii. I love the roar of the waves crashing into shore and the amazing gale force winds that pummel the coast with salt spray during storm season.  The salt-sea smell during the hot summer months is a pungent wonder.  There is so much to explore amongst the driftwood and along the sandy beach; there is a new treasure to behold everyday.
  • What book do you think everyone should read and why?  I have a current fascination with the Dalai Lama’s recent book “Beyond Religion”.  It is filled with wise and brilliant words to live by without the accoutrements of any specific religious bias.
  • What’s your favorite way to wake up and what’s the first thing you do?  I enjoy waking up slowly to the sounds of nature outside my always opened (at least a bit) window.  I spend the first 10 to 15 minutes in quiet meditation to approach the day with calm, accepting composure followed by a cup of coffee (yes, in bed) and conversation with my husband (the official bringer of said coffee).
  • What do you to relax?  There is nothing more relaxing for me than a walk through the forest.  I consider it to be a walking meditation as I commune with all of the nuances of the forest sights, sounds and smells.  It creates a feeling of euphoria that lasts for hours after.

Today’s “stone” is  Day 85  salt water memories, wisdom, meditation, forest bathing

  1. What a lovely life you lead. i like how you wake, and take time to have your coffee in bed and talk with your husband. And I have to say, there is something magical and relaxing about forests.
