A Gift of Sadie

“Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons.”

-Ruth Ann Schabacker-

The wonderful Sadie, a black Cocker Spaniel, of approximately 14 years passed away on February 28.  This is a loving tribute to her in the form of a graphite drawing that I will be passing along as a gift to her folks.  Having spent time with Sadie was her gift to us.  What a delightful opportunity it was for us to get to know this gentle and patient little dog through our grooming shop and the many times she boarded with us.  She was afflicted with arthritis, moved in slow and carefully measured steps, was completely deaf and had diminished sight.  However she was determined, loving and a joy to have as part of our extended dog family.  She is truly missed.

Today’s “stone” is  Day 75  love in a furry package, sad eyes, warm heart

  1. Your portrait is beautiful, and Sadie was such a pretty dog. I’m so glad she had loving friends and family in her life — no pet should ever be without them! My sincere condolences to her family, and to yours, at this sad loss.
