“The world is mud-luscious and puddle-wonderful.” e.e. cummings

Oddly enough I was almost thinking that when the rain started pouring and the winds began to rise.  However, at freezing point temperatures that can only mean one thing around here; sure enough it turned to heavy wet snow.  Within 20 minutes the electricity went off.  Now as I sit at my laptop, in the dark, with only one hour of power left in the battery I am not entirely thrilled.  The good thing is that once I finish on the laptop, without electricity there is nothing to distract me from enjoying a quiet read by candle light.  It is like an opportunity to shake off the trappings of the modern world and contemplate a time long past.  It is dreary in the house but still light outside so perhaps a slog through the wet snow will be next instead.  There are always choices regardless of what comes our way, just not the usual ones.  Have a good one; I am off to play in the snow.
